the coffin box. looks great. put brass pulls on lid for now till i get some other type. i like it best of all boxes right now but i really like each one in an individual way.
Up late fucking with possible lid. It will set inside the box top. I wish I had two of those resin handles now for pulls. Polyed the fuck out of the inside of box by pouring half a pint of poly inside and swishing all around till i was happy with the texture. then i flicked some ashes on the bottom for the hell of it.

I sprayed the box with poly in a can with many light coats till can was empty. I will light sand tomorrow and apply the other can over two days. I like the dull dirty glass look it gives off
i just finished putting the second coat on the inside of the box. (note: that cheap bristle brush package of red handled brushes from the dollar store have great qualities that some expensive brushes do not have). I tried to put it on thick, even and fast. I turned it around 360/d, twice to try to see any runs or missed spots. There is one spot on one side that has a black streak horizontally but if it ends up showing it is cool with me. I am thinking about putting a little rectangular sex pistols / pretty vacant sticker on the middle of the bottom of it while the paint is still wet. I will get the opinion of mc first. I have really enjoyed this day/night with you. i love you.
i like the red color inside as i knew i would…spread half a small can all over inside, and spread across the top edge too. One more coat should do it and then i will pour on the poly. I’m gonna get a nice piece of wood for the top. Maybe I can find some fine pine. I will sand it like a motherfucker and make it smooth as glass. Sex Pistols custom die cut decal on it, poly it and place it on top. I like this one.
Added some more layers to the coffin box. Added some black to some, red to others and a little yellow or a bit of each one to each skull and random ‘little’ anarchy symbols. I also added a few of the little anarchy symbols to the middle sections of each side panel.
More painting on the coffin box project. I went out to take some photos of it and decided to spray some red paint over one of the stencils. Too cool so I did them all. Now, as I see the photo perspective, I am thinking red overlayed on the corner ‘anarchy’ symbols and maybe even a red blotch here and there.
I always liked painting abstractly and then adding more and more until the end result was something different and cool. This is the first phase….I like it already. As I add more it will create a ‘kaliedascopy’ type of effect…..and once I have the ‘finish’ how i like it I can add the middle stecil in the middle or maybe just a corner of each side to sit on top of the crazy finish…..or…it may be cool to add the stencil half way through and layer just enough on to see the highlights of what it is….probably a different shade of yellow
I’ve painted the base….added stencils; I have changed the layout and templates three times so far. I ‘like’“ (kinda on minute and no the next minute) the ‘grafitti’ look of the over/under spray on the symbols but they just aren’t sitting right with me. I am thinking I definately like the middle stencil. For sure. Maybe a different stencil color and maybe if i slather on a thick coat of paint with a brush I would like it better; see’in’s how the last two boxes I made I used the same stencil applying techniches. Or…maybe resize the end stencils smaller. hmmmmm…..i’m leaning towards painting the base like i have the other ones….
note to self: i still like the idea of spray painting the wood,,,,but next time I will have to really finish sand the wood all the way down to like a 1600 paper beginning with 320 and working down.
And………..the other boxes…..I probably went through 5 different ideas and schemes before I just said FUCK IT and came up with what I did…which I really ended up liking completly.
